(Before I begin, I
just would like to say that any rumors you may have heard
involving Jimmy D and JoDo are just that... rumors. And we
all know about rumors...)
"A New Beginning" is in the books. The Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth is an incredible building in my opinion, and that is echoed by almost everyone else that I have heard from. Congratulations to Digital Horizons for the incredible video they made to open the show. Even to us in the locker room, when that video was finished, we all knew we were a part of a major step for IWC. Onto the results!!! After the Unholy Alliance was shown that Norm Connors and the IWC locker room would not take their crap any longer, Dennis Gregory scored a big win for all of us with his defeat of HENTAI. Jason Gory beating Larry Sweeney for the ICW/ICWA Texarkana Television Championship. Although there was some controversy, Gory pulled out a win here, with no outside shenanigans. Gory went on to gain a second pinfall over Sweeney, but things were to soon take another strange turn. I was reaching for the title that was being held by Chuck Roberts, when I turned around and saw Sweeney execute a piledriver to win the belt. 24/7 rules. Just when you thought that Gory had won the feud, Sweeney somehow pulls it out again. In a surprise, Dirk Ciglar made his return to wrestling with a big win over Bubba the Bulldog. Both men are at a major crossroads in their careers. How each reacts to this match will determine where their respective careers go from here. Sterling Keenan and Dean Radford looked like a very formidable team in the early stages of their tag title match with reigning champions the Gambinos. However, each man's pride and temper cost them the gold in this one. How about that spear from Marshall? Glenn Spectre continued his dominance of IWC with a great win over Shiima Xion in a Super Indy V qualifier. In the near future, Xion will be one of the best in this sport. For now, though, Spectre proved that he is one of indy wrestling's elite with this win. Next stop- SI V. How did you spend your birthday this past year?? Sebastian Dark spent his with his face exploding due to Abyss. Disregarding how the night ended up, although I should remain neutral, I have to admit that I was overjoyed with the beating that Dark received from the IWC newcomer. J-Rocc's mouth got him into a little too much trouble this time, as Jon Bolen showed just what kind of force he can be in this war for IWC's side. Although the veteran took the fight to the youngster, Bolen pulled off a huge win. I have been pushing Troy Lords as the next breakout star in IWC. This past Friday night, he definitely took that big step. Six months ago, Lords was one of the most hated men in IWC. Now, even against the immensely popular "Fabulous" John McChesney, Lords had the majority of the crowd firmly behind him. An incredible performance from both men. Myself, and I'm sure all of you, can't wait until these two are rematched. Make it happen, IWC! So AJ Styles couldn't make it. Kudos to Norm Connors for getting Austin Aries as a replacement on such short notice. When I heard Chuck Roberts announce Aries name, I KNEW that the title was going to be leaving the grasp of Shirley Doe. I just KNEW it. An incredible match followed. Then, I counted a pin. Um, what happened in between, you may ask? Well, I was informed later on that Doe had pulled me in the way of an Aries dropkick. All I knew was that I woke up with my face throbbing, and saw Aries' shoulders on the mat for the three. I then see Abyss aligned with Doe, Dark, and HENTAI. What the hell did I miss? After that beating earlier, why were Abyss and Dark standing side-by-side? Obviously, there is a lot to this story. Hopefully, we will all find out very soon what is going on. What happened next, however, was the biggest step in IWC's war against the Unholy Alliance. Sterling Keenan pulled that IWC shirt over his head, and suddenly the sides in the war evened up a little bit more. Four men, regardless of how great they are in the ring, cannot survive against the onslaught of the IWC locker room. Your time is running out, Doe. I, for one, cannot wait for the last grains of salt to empty from the hourglass that represents your title reign. -Steven Colter { - RETURN TO THE MAIN PAGE - } |
