Next Saturday night is
IWC's "Accept No Limitations 2" event.
ANL has a warm place in my heart. See, my debut in IWC was at the first "Accept No Limitations" on November 13th, 2003. What a show to start on, huh?? That night, the IWC title changed hands, as Shirley Doe's first championship reign was ended at the hands of Balls Mahoney, due to help from Chris Wood. Doe went on to regain the title a month later, and has held onto the strap ever since. Also, Samoa Joe made his 30th defense of the Ring of Honor world title, against Chris Hero. After nearly forty-minutes of incredible action, Joe hit the muscle buster to retain the title. That show also saw Chris Sabin defend the Super Indy title against "Fabulous" John McChesney, Dean Radford face Glenn Spectre, Bubba The Bulldog and Dennis Gregory take on Jimmy Vega$ and Dirk Ciglar, Nate Webb battle Sterling Keenan, Sebastian Dark vs. Jimmy Jacobs, Nigel McGuinness against Claudio Castagnoli, and Jason Gory teaming with the Gambinos to take on the Wildcards and Shiima Xion. Fast-forward to present-day. Wow... two hyphenated phrases in one sentence. Anyway, next week is the second installment of "Accept No Limitations". A lot of different roles for a lot of people, but a lot of similar ones as well. Gregory is well-loved, and leading IWC's charge against a threat. Radford is charging straight-ahead. Shiima is proving just how talented he really is. Doe is going in as champion. Dark is still hated by fans and wrestlers alike. McChesney is now the Super Indy champion, instead of chasing it. The Gambinos are no longer rookies, but dominate champions. Claudio is trying to earn IWC respect, and Gory is trying to take the next big step. There are also a lot of new and/or different players in the mix at "Accept No Limitations 2". HENTAI, Bolen, Larry Sweeney, Tracy Smothers, Milano Collection AT, Delerious, KUDO... Next week, I'll do my customary (yeah!) preview as only I can do... not through the glasses, but through the contacts, as only I can do.
