While sitting in the
balcony of the Court Time Sports Center watching the main
event of "Accept No Limitations 2", as a member of the IWC
locker room, I had to stand and applaud. "Mark-out", if you
will. See, I couldn't have been more proud of Dennis
Gregory, Jon Bolen, and Dean Radford. Those three men
combined to gain some revenge on the Unholy Alliance. Sure,
Shirley Doe may still be the reigning IWC world champion,
but that WILL change on March 18th at the "Road To Super
Indy V", when Sterling James Keenan WILL win the title.
I've heard talk
that Gregory will be next in line for a shot at the strap.
Maybe at Super Indy we'll see Dennis Gregory challenge SJK
for the belt. Keep in mind, Keenan won the IWC title from
Gregory on November 11th, 2003. This time, the roles just
may be reversed. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. After a big win
over Ray Rowe Saturday night, Sterling is on a roll as he
goes to "TRTSI5". Is it his time? I'd like to think so. On a personal note,
when I asked Sterling why he hadn't returned any of my calls
or emails, he told me he has been busy. I can understand and
respect that. Regardless, all of our hope is riding on SJK
on March 18th. It is time for Doe's reign to end. I had predicted
that Larry Sweeney would walk away with the Super Indy
title. Looking back, I truly believe that if it weren't for
Jason Gory, Sweeney still would have. I have to give Gory
credit, though. No one ever suspects anything from the
referees. Gory was wise enough to take advantage of Sweeney
at an opportune time in order to win the ICW/ICWA Texarkana
Television title. Regardless, McChesney proved his talent by
pulling off an impressive win. Now, it's smooth sailing for
Fab to remain SI champ for a year. Well, except for that
Low-Ki thing. Speaking of Gory,
how great was his match with "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli?
Both men have improved so much, and this match highlighted
just how true that statement is. It is unfortunate, however,
that after an incredible performance, Gory's trickery
earlier in the evening came back to bite him when he was
attacked by Sweeney afterwards. Regardless, a piledriver ON
THE FLOOR is a little excessive, don't you think? It was an honor to
be able to witness Milano Collection AT against KUDO in
person. Granted, it would have been great to see Delirious
thrown into the mix, but things happen, and I highly doubt
that anyone was let down by the match these two
international superstars provided. The Gambino's
streak continued with a huge win over the "Superfriends",
Shark Boy and "Wonderman" Glenn Spectre. There is something
to be said for not only being a regular team, but also a tag
team of brothers. My personal pick
for match of the show is one that I was highly looking
forward to, the clash between Shiima Xion and Troy Lords. I
have gone on record of saying that Troy Lords will be the
2005 Super Indy tournament winner. If Shiima can hold "Balls
Hot's" shoulders to the mat for three seconds again on the
18th, that dream will be over. I do have to admit,
I was highly entertained by Shiima and Maverick's entrance. The situation
between J-Rocc-Ray Rowe and Dirk Ciglar-Jason Cage is far
from over. Mark my words. Last, but not
least, what happened to Jesse Titan Mark?? I understand
doing what you have to in order to get noticed, but snapping
at the promoter in the middle of the ring is not the best
way to go about things. That is all. I'll see you all next Thursday! -Steven Colter { - RETURN TO THE MAIN PAGE - } |
