INTERNATIONAL WRESTLING CARTEL

November 10th, 2005

My, how time flies.

One year ago this Sunday, I made my IWC debut in Wilmerding, PA.

I remember being so nervous in the days leading up to the "Accept No Limitations" event. Working for IWC would be a major step up for me professionally, and I questioned my readiness for what lie ahead.

However, there was no turning back. In the year that has passed, I have been very pleased with the progress that I have made. IWC has been an incredible experience, and I have loved every minute of it.

I even had the opportunity to meet and actually talk with my favorite wrestler in Matt Hardy. Yeah, I'm a mark. In the words of Tracy Smothers, "Hey, man, what can I say?"

Now, seeing as how this is my column and I basically have free reign to write whatever my little heart desires, I have decided to list my five favorite matches that I have been fortunate enough to officiate during my IWC tenure.

Onto the countdown!!!

Honorable mention (because there were just so many that I couldn't leave out)

-Sterling Keenan v AJ Styles (2-25-05 Uniontown)
-Soldier v Chris Hamrick (2-26-05 McKeesport)
-Shirley Doe v Tracy Smothers (4-9-05 Franklin)
-Midnight Express v Southern Comfort (4-29-05 McKeesport)
-Low Ki v Homicide (4-29-05 McKeesport)

5. Nate Webb v Sterling Keenan (11-13-04 Wilmerding)
This was the first time I was in an IWC ring, and I was so happy with how everything went. The match was incredible, and I couldn't have asked for a better start to my IWC career.

4. Shirley Doe v Shiima Xion (8-13-05 Uniontown)
Even though I got knocked for a loop during this contest, it was my first taste of an IWC main event (disregarding being the "doorkeeper" for Caged Fury). A great match of teacher v student, and a lot of fun... in hindsight... minus the getting knocked out thing.

3. Midnight Express v Sebastian Dark-HENTAI (4-30-05 Uniontown)
My favorite tag team of all time is the Midnight Express. To be in the ring with them on two consecutive days was amazing. I am upset still with the tactics that led to it, but it was so cool to count the pin that cost the Express the tag team belts.

2. Christopher Daniels v Low Ki v CM Punk (4-30-05 Uniontown, PA)
I recall when the match had just began, and I looked around at the three guys I was standing in the ring with, and thinking "What the hell am I doing in here??" A superb match with the three bonafide stars in the wrestling world.

1. Samoa Joe v AJ Styles (8-26-05 McKeesport)
Two weeks before this match, I watched these two wrestle on a TNA pay-per-view. Now, here I was standing inside the squared circle with these two megastars. Probably the most nervous I have ever been in wrestling, but an experience that I treasure.

Well, enough putting myself over for this week. I thank you for reading, as I just felt like I had to express my excitement for the past year to my loyal readership. All three of you... and that is being conservative.

I thank IWC and all of its fans for giving me the past year, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!!

Viva IWC!!!
