Hello fans, and welcome to another edition of
IWC Q&A. Recently I had the opportunity to attempt to question the
one and only Shirley Doe. Unquestionably, Doe has to be considered the
most ruthless and malicious individual to ever compete in this area.
Doe only feuled this reputation further in recent months as a result of
his issues with Super Hentai. With just days to go before the
Doe/Hentai Street Fight at the Big Butler Fair, I was able to sit down
with Doe and get his take on this violent rivalry.

Q: Shirley Doe, we are just days
away from what has the potential to be one of the most brutal matches
of your career as, after all these months, yor rivalry with Super
Hentai finally comes to a head. But for now, let's go back in time to
the fateful day that started all this: it was December 6, 2002, the
night of your match with Hentai in a Falls-Count-Anywhere environment.
A 15-minute war ensued, ending with Super Hentai bloody and concussed
as a result of a vile chairshot from you. Did you have any idea
beforehand as to just how much damage you were going to inflict that
night?
A: I prepare for each match as
Larry Talbot prepared to become a werewolf. There is no preparation
that can get you ready to become the beast, the pure unrelenting heart
of chaos and violence that Shirley Doe is. You simply give yourself
over to the transformation and hope that when the dust settles, you are
still alive. Because that is all that matters.
That
said, of course I did. I don't go into matches hoping to shake
someone's hand afterward. I go into matches hoping to have their
bloody, ripped-off hand as a souvenir.
Q:
What fueled your rage that night? Was it your
always-present thirst for blood and violence or was there a deeper
meaning, perhaps jealousy over Hentai's successful tour of Japan?
A:
I don't believe in jealousy other than a way to
make others do what I want. Of course it's my dream to go to Japan, but
I will fufill my destiny all in good time.
What
deeper meaning is there than blood and violence? Before I truly became
Shirley Doe, a woman told me her favorite word was "love." I repulsed
her by saying that my favorite words were "senseless violence." I ended
up apologizing to her as she cried, but now, I would offer no such
appeasement. The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.
Q:
Not long after that night, a video was
delivered to the IWC front offices with you on it basically taunting
Hentai over what you did to him. What could motivate you to do such a
tasteless act after damn near ruining a man's livelihood?
A:
Don't try and place your pathetic notions of
wrong and right onto me. You cannot be me, you cannot walk a mile in my
shoes. How can you understand the voices that call out in my head for
blood? For savagery? Even when I try the road of peace, such as in Penn
Hills, I am inevitably led down to the way of slaughter.
Tasteless?
To tell the truth, I'm proud of myself. I took the most scientific
wrestler in the IWC and forced him to come down to my level. I tempted
him with pain and he responded in kind.
Q:
Do you have any regrets today about what you
did during and soon after that match?
A:
There will be no apologies, no death-bed
confessions for who I am and what I have done. My only regret was that
I didn't finish what I started and got sidetracked by Bubba. And now
that I have placed him lost and alone on the path of suffering, I'm
ready to turn my full attention to Hentai.
Q:
You put Hentai out of official in-ring action
for nearly two months, but he wouldn't go away. Three weeks after you
injured him, Hentai joined my colleague, Jeff Gorman, at the broadcast
booth to do color commentary during one of your matches. Hentai could
not control his rage, and a fistfight ensued, a fight with so much
intensity it took damn near the whole locker room to separate the two
of you. Were you surprised that Hentai kept coming after you despite
the traumatic experiences you gave him?
A:
No. I encouraged it. Like I said earlier, it's
all part of my plan. I took Bubba, someone who loved his popularity and
relied on the fans to get him going, and I turned the fans against him.
Now, I shall take Hentai and force him to wrestle my match and come
down to the lowest of the low.
Q:
The next encounter between the two of you was
during a tag team encounter pitting you and The Mysterious X against
Hentai and Sterling James Keenan. However, you had another trick up
your sleeve as Keenan turned on Hentai to become one of your disciples.
How and when did that arrangement come about?
A:
I wrestled Keenan twice and am always looking
for someone I can depend on. However, I am always disappointed. I was
tempted to offer the left hand of brotherhood to Keenan then and there,
but he had to undergo my test of fire.
Q:
The scary part about that is Keenan joined you
after engaging in a brutal war with you for nearly 15 minutes. Do you
contribute that to your mind control over others or what?
A:
I contribute it to the fact that only by being
able to survive the hatred that I have and be able to withstand the
violence that I command. Only then will you gain my respect. My hands
will carry the scars of that match for the rest of my days.
There's
nothing like the sound a crowd makes when you take something good and
make it evil.
Q:
You and Hentai have continued to collide in a
series of tag matches, but neither has been able to gain a decisive
advantage. The culmination to all this hatred is just days away at the
Big Butler Fair. How do you assess this upcoming match, it's potential
level of violence, and your chances of coming out on top?
A:
I don't care if I win or lose. This match will
do what I have intended to do with my entire career. Leave a memory
that you won't be able to forget.
Some
want to win titles. Others want revenge. Some want money, or women, or
fame.
I
want immortality. Through the fans, I will do that one thing that you
will talk about for years to come. My pain may last for decades. Hentai
and I may both be in wheelchairs or, even better, vegetables for the
rest of our pathetic lives.
But I
will drag my broken body to greatness. My ritual of immortality is
almost over. Now is the time of making manifest all that has been
hidden. And soon, it will be the time of making all of the lies true.
My
sacrifice will open the door to another world. A Babylon, a place of
almost unimaginable power, brimming with dark forces and vicious
secrets. No prayers dare enter this frightful maw. Spirits there care
not for good deeds or priestly implications. They like to rip the flesh
from your bones to greet you. To destroy Hentai and the IWC, I shall
harness these ouduo, these fighting spirits of the past. In
this hidden land of unmuffled screams and broken hearts, my power so
vast that I might reorder the Earth itself to my liking. This place I
speak of is known as the Black Lodge and I intend to find it.
Q:
Mr. Doe, thank you for your time. Any last
words?
A:
Through the darkness of futures past, the
magician longs to see. One chants out between two worlds. Fire, walk
with me.

There you have it, fans, a glimpse into the
mind of a madman. I'm hoping to be able to get a few words with Super
Hentai in the coming days to get his take on this brutal rivalry, but
here's what I can tell you already. Hentai is a friend of mine, yet I
have not been able to get into contact with him in weeks. Hentai has
been in seclusion, physically and mentally preparing for what will no
doubt be the most grueling fight of his life on June 28. The risks for
this upcoming match are high, therefore it's understandable why he
would refuse to talk to anyone.
Keep in mind, the original Doe/Hentai match-up
last December actually had rules and was not meant to go as far as it
did. However, now on June 28, both men have the license to do whatever
they want to each other. Remember fans, if you'd like to see a small
sampling of what you'll get in Butler, the original Doe/Hentai match is
available in the merchandise section of this website, on the December
6, 2002 videotape.
Until next time this is Joe Dombrowski signing
off, I'll see you at the Big Butler Fair.
