INTERNATIONAL WRESTLING CARTEL

INTERROGATION
"WONDERMAN"
GLENN SPECTRE

Conducted by Joe Dombrowski
IWC Color Commentator / Media Correspondent

Straight from Japan (no pun intended), Glenn Spectre was able to set aside some time in the middle of his current tour of Japan to discuss his recent metamorphosis, his exploits in Japan, and the much-anticipated Eric Xtasy vs. Shirley Doe title match this Saturday night!

Q: Glenn Spectre, you've evolved a great deal in recent months both professionally and personally. I believe it was this past May when you, along with then-ally Shirley Doe toured Japan for the very first time, a major accomplishment for anyone to reach. Describe for us your memories of the country itself and your time wrestling there.

A: Japan is the greatest!!! There is no where else on earth where the fans are more respectful of pro wrestlling and its atheletes. I really shined in the Japanese enviornment. Dramatic Dream Team took a chance on me (a virtual unknown) and I have taken the ball and run with it. From Samurai TV interviews to main eventing Koreakuen Hall; I cannot say a bad word about the land of the rising sun!

Q: Since returning from Japan, Shirley Doe has pretty much been the same person we remember him as before the trip. Howeever you began a gradual metamorphosis. Starting with a little love tap of sorts to Chris Sabin at Super Indy 3, then being a bit too playful with Eric Xtasy, until the full transformation into..."Wonder Man". Glenn, what the heck happened to ya in Japan?

A: Well, frankly it is none of your business! But in the spirit of a good interview I`ll tell you anyway. Japan is a way more open country (sexually) then the United States. It's not a cut on the USA, its not the land's fault that a bunch of closed minded inbred yahoos decided to settle here. When I`m there I can be the man I am.

Q: In recent months you've developed a very...ahem...close friendship with IWC Champion Eric
Xtasy. Exactly what...uh...attracted you to him and exactly what kind of relationship is  it?

A: Business first, always. In wrestling, it is important to have a guy behind you...in case you
get...jumped or something...anyway, our goals are make money and win titles, anything else is icing on a beautiful cake.

Q: What has possessed you to switch from your more traditional wrestling tights to this "Wonder Man" outfit?

A: After touring Japan I felt it was time for the world, starting with the US, to stand up and take notice. What better way to get the US fans' attention than a super cool outfit like my idol Lynda Carter? All I can do is give the fans fair warning: expect more outrageous outfits in the future.

Q: I'm sure a lot of people out there would be more accepting of your for lack of a better term, lifestyle choice if you weren't so forceful with how you present it. Why do you have to force your lifestyle choice on us and make us watch in disgust as you do things like give Eric Xtasy rub-downs in the middle of the ring?

A: You`re disgusted because you are a closed-minded pig. I`m not forceful about my sexuality, but I refuse to hide it. You don`t have to watch me wrestle, but I guarantee more and more people will. I will not be denied. Anyway, I think your ears are decieving you. If I recall correctly I hear a lot of POPS no matter what I do! The fans know what is up. I`m like IWC`s Rob Halford. You can be gay and still kick ass!

Q: Regardless of your personal preferences, one thing that can't be denied is your remarkable success both here and overseas. Earlier this summer you returned to Japan to compete for the DDT promotion. For those fans that may not know, explain just how big of a deal DDT is and why it is such an honor to work for them.

A: Working for DDT is fantastic! In a time when the business is waning even in Japan, DDT continues to grow. In time, DDT could be the #1 promotion in Japan. I will be happy to just be a part of that great success story.

Q: While you were over there you attained quite an impressive goal, capturing the DDT Catchweight Tag titles. Reflect back on your thoughts on winning the gold, and also talk about the unique relationship you have with your tag team partner.

A: Dieno is more than a partner, he is a best friend. We have taken each other to our limits, but we work even better as a team. Winning the tag titles with him was just another dream come true. I remember thinking that it was just a dream as the ref counted the three, but low and behold it was true. I couldn`t be happier! Being their first geijin (foreign born) title holder is a huge honor.

Q: And what does Eric Xtasy think about all that?

A: Eric`s been great, but he is not the jealous type. If you were half as attractive as him you would understand.

Q: As we speak you are overseas in the middle of yet another tour of Japan. Give us all the info we need to know about your current trip.

A: I am scheduled for 5 appearences, but I have one seriously bum annoucement. In a twist not unlike our own Super Indy title tornument The Gay Machine Guns are being forced to vacate the titles for DDT`s yearly Who`s Gonna Top Tag Tornument. Now I know how AJ feels. At least I`m in good company! DDT prepare for a repeat!

Q: While you're in Japan, there will be a title match of mega importance in the States as well, as your special friend Xtasy defends the IWC Title against Shirley Doe, with Commission rep Chris Wood and hardcore legend Mick Foley as special referees. You won't be there to help out your partner like you've been doing, and J-Rocc is barred from ringside as well. What are your thoughts on that match?

A: Eric Xtasy only needs Eric Xtasy to defend his belt. He will prove that to the world on the 25th. My question is why Shirley Doe even gets a shot. I like Doe. I mean the whole Satan-loving gothic angst thing, though played out, is kinda cute. That doesn`t mean you get a 4th shot. Three strikes and you're out. Three times he had his chance and blew it. Talk about biased. How about Norm Connors making it No DQ? That is just the kinda BS you can expect from a guy who used to wear an out-of-style purple suit and hang out with Lord Zoltan!

Barring J-Rocc from ringside, that`s just rubbing salt in the wound. He wants to tilt the odds in Doe`s favor. Why? I have no clue. Who wants the poster child for suicide as their heavyweight champ?! Sheesh! Mick Foley as a special guest ref to even the odds, that`s funny, Chris Wood is a Commision rep and the most honest guy in wrestling. It`s not fair that he will be calling things "RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE!" when Foley obviously favors his running buddy Doe!

Q: October 3rd in Newville, Pa is your next IWC match but there's international implications there as well, you challenge Soldier for the IWC International Title, a belt that has been defended in Japan as of late. Whoever comes out on top there will certainly be a great representation of IWC overseas. What do you have to say about Soldier and your match with him October 3?

A: Soldier is a great competitor, and he represents IWC fantastically internationally with the WMF. I like him, but when it comes down to it I will beat him. You can`t stop me! I am IWC`s international sexual phenom! And I will write another page in the book of my success with Soldiers blood! ARRGRGGGGGRGHHHHH!!!!!

Ok, actually that is just testosterone fueled nonsense. I will beat Soldier because though he is a great and worthy champion, I am simply... better! No harsh words or hard feelings. I mean it's not like he is ugly or something! I am sunshine on a cloudy day, and that day is Soldier`s title reign. "Wonderman Glenn Spectre saving wrestling, one match at a time!"

Q: Mr. Spectre thank you for your time and good luck in Japan.

A: Yeah, thanks for your time to DORK!!! Just kidding Joe D, but seriously your fashion sense... well... it sucks!
