Doe’s Disciples Grow in Numbers;
Hentai Goes Through Hell

By Joe Dombrowski, IWC Media Correspondent
IWC’s official television taping turned out to
be one of the most eventful and chaotic shows ever! Competition,
brutality, betrayal, surprises and vengeance were all contributing
factors in making this night an unforgettable occasion.
The final bout of the evening pitted SHIRLEY DOE and THE MYSTERIOUS X against the team of SUPER HENTAI and STERLING JAMES KEENAN. Even though it was
obvious this match would degenerate into an all-out brawl, no one could
have predicted the events that would unfold during the match’s
conclusion. However, just as chaotic as the match itself, was the
events leading up to this match-up:
Earlier in the show, Doe went one-on-one with BUBBA THE BULLDOG. Doe focused on
Bubba’s injured hand, but Bubba kept battling back. Finally, Bubba's
perseverance paid off, as a SUPER HENTAI chairshot cost Doe
the match, giving
Bubba the victory.
Later that show, Hentai was set to defend his
Super Indy Title against AJ STYLES, in a visually
spectacular contest.
Both men’s similar styles and high-risk mentality caused the match to
turn into a high-flying game of "Can You Top This?" that had fans in
awe until the very end. However, things didn’t stay one-on-one
entirely, as Doe reappeared to try to seek revenge on Hentai, only to
be cut off by Bubba. The Mysterious X ran in as well, but AJ took care
of him. Finally, with everyone else distracted, the one and only RAVEN appeared and gave
Hentai the Evenflow DDT, allowing AJ to hit The Styles Clash and pin
Hentai for the 1-2-3 to become the NEW IWC SUPER INDY CHAMPION!
With all that in mind, it’s no wonder the tag
match pitting Doe and X versus Hentai and Keenan was such bedlam. All
four men brawled all over the building, hitting each other with
anything they could find. After Keenan and X had been laid out, Doe and
Hentai locked eyes on each other, and fans witnessed the confrontation
over three months in the making. However, the confrontation ended with
a sickening display of backstabbing, as Keenan grabbed a chair and
clobbered Hentai with it, allowing Doe to pin Hentai for the victory.
After the match, Doe, X and Keenan embraced, attacking Hentai all the
while. Finally, in a showing of respect, AJ Styles stormed the ring and
cleaned house of Doe and his minions.
Now that Sterling James Keenan, and apparently
Raven as well, have made it official that they are part of Doe’s evil
army, Doe has become more powerful than ever. It could be only a matter
of time before the fate of IWC lies in his hateful hands.
Also on hand was DISCO INFERNO. Disco interrupted a
match-up between DUSTIN ARDINE and SPIDER MASK, claiming he was
tired of waiting to give the fans what they want, which of course is to
see Disco Inferno DANCE! Before Disco could begin to boogie, the
returning DENNIS GREGORY arrived on the scene, and physically
drove Disco from the ring. Later on, Ardine attempted a measure of
revenge against Disco, but came up short. Ardine was being pummeled to
a point where Disco was dancing and bragging to anyone who would pay
attention to him, rather than focus on his match. That all ended when
Gregory appeared again, attacking Disco once more. Disco won by DQ, but
the real story was his vendetta with Gregory.
That vendetta came to a head later that night,
when the two met in the ring. Disco was his usual cocky self, dancing
and showing off all the way through the match, but with good reason, as
he had been targeting Gregory’s surgically repaired knee. However,
Disco’s arrogance came back to haunt him when, while attempting to hit
his finisher "The Chartbuster," Gregory surprised him with a backslide,
and was able to hold Disco down for 3.
In other action…
After a heart-felt speech from the injured ERIC XTASY, the replacement
partner for JT RODGERS was announced as none other than "BALLS HOT" TROY LORDS. The Rodgers/Lords
reunification proved to be a successful one, as the duo retained the
IWC Tag Team Championship Titles against THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATES in the most
emotionally moving moment of the night.
RAVEN started his match with CM PUNK in the locker room,
and it eventually spilled out into the ring, and the bell was sounded
even though the match had been scheduled for later on. Both men went
through a very physical battle, until it took not one, but two Evenflow
DDTs to keep Punk down for the 3 count.
Although Punk came up just short of defeating
Raven, he was able to earn a submission victory against the
up-and-coming CARLTON KAZ.
AL B. DAMM scored what many call an upset
victory over DEAN RADFORD. Damm was trapped in a power match,
which was to his disadvantage. However, when Radford made one mistake,
in this case going for an overly-cocky pin, Damm was able to reverse it
into a pinfall of his own and get the win.
SETH JAMES took on T. RANTULA, but Seth insisted
no weapons be used. T played along for a while, but he eventually
decided to retrieve a street sign, which referee CHRISTOPHER KALIKAPELA stopped him from
using. As T protested by gripping the throat of Kalikapela for an
intended chokeslam, James used the street sign himself, which played a
big part in his victory.

IWC IN BUTLER, PA: FEBRUARY 22, 2003
Raven Debuts; Sabu Leads Sexual Harassment to
Tag Title Win

By Joe Dombrowski, IWC Media Correspondent
IWC continued its trend of incredible action
and tremendous fan support this past Saturday night, February 22, in
Butler, PA at a PACKED Hindman Hall. Fans in attendance were treated to
an amazing night of excitement, in what will truly go down in history
as one of the biggest wrestling shows ever in Western Pennsylvania.
The main event saw the one and only RAVEN make his IWC debut,
taking on former ECW Champion "King of Old School" STEVE CORINO (replacing the
banned-from-Pennsylvania Sandman). Corino controlled most of the match,
partially because he tried every shortcut he could, including using a
foreign object he had hidden in his tights. In the end, however, Raven
was able to come back, and Corino was on the receiving end of Raven’s
Evenflow DDT for the 1-2-3.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT had been scheduled
to challenge all three of THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATES for the IWC Tag Team
Titles. However, during a brawl between the two teams before their
match, the one and only homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac, SABU, made an appearance
and rid the ring of the Advocates. IWC promoter NORM CONNORS announced that the
tag belts would be on the line in a six-man tag team match in order to
even up the odds.
Sure enough, when it came to match time, Sabu
sacrificed his body to hurt others. Sabu delivered his trademark
springboard leg lariat in the corner, as well as his springboard
plancha onto all three Advocates on the outside. Somehow, during all
the chaos, Sexual Harassment managed to hit The Strawberry Surprise to
win the match, the titles, and to become the first-ever three-time IWC
Tag Team Champions! Certainly, this was a very important win in IWC
promoter Norm Connors’ current rivalry with SHIRLEY DOE and his evil group
of disciples. Now that Doe has lost the upper hand and control of the
tag titles, there’s no telling what he’ll do to regain them.
Sabu may have been chaotic, but the "Fans Bring
the Weapons" Match was nothing short of pure bedlam. T. RANTULA and the arrogant SETH JAMES beat each other all
over the building in one of the most brutal and bloody encounters in
IWC history.

Everything from a computer keyboard, a
telephone, a bowling ball, and even a pink flamingo lawn ornament were
used in this vicious battle. After several minutes of sickening thuds
and profuse blood loss, T. Rantula hit his devastating powerbomb to
pick up the win.
Butler's own TREVOR LOWE received a second
chance to defeat IWC Champion JIMMY VEGA$, and came as close
as humanly
possible to doing just that. Lowe was holding his own with Vega$ and
was looking rather impressive until referee BRUCE GRAY was knocked silly.
Seth James, apparently not able to wait for his own match, interfered
on Vega$’ behalf. As IWC Senior Referee CHRISTOPHER KALIKAPELA showed up to aid
Gray, T. Rantula ran in and chokeslammed Vega$ to even the odds. Lowe
made the cover and Kalikapela turned and counted Vega$’ shoulders to
the mat and proclaimed Trevor Lowe the NEW champion in front of his
ecstatic hometown. However, after a brief conference between the
referees, Bruce Gray determined that Lowe was disqualified, Kalikapela
concurred, and the belt was returned to Vega$. Truly a miscarriage of
justice, and a heartbreaker for Lowe, who was so close, yet so far
away, to emerging as one of IWC’s top stars.
CARLTON KAZ and AL B DAMM made just their
second appearance for IWC in a rematch from their Northgate High School
encounter last month. The match went back and forth and was full of
impressive action that had the fans on the edges of their seats. Kaz
edged out a victory over Damm, and the two showed their respect for
each other by shaking hands after the match.
DEAN RADFORD battled STERLING JAMES KEENAN in another
back-and-forth match. Both men went all out to win, hitting all of
their signature moves, but it came down to awareness on the part of
Dean Radford to lift his shoulder off the mat at a point where both
men’s shoulders were down. Thanks to Keenan’s momentary lapse of
concentration, he went back to the showers with the losing end of the
paycheck.
This show also saw the in-ring debut of THE MYSTERIOUS X, one of the evil
followers of Shirley Doe. X was able to obliterate SPIDER MASK en route to an
impressive victory. Not much is known about X, but one thing that can’t
be denied is his incredible in-ring talent.

IWC BLOWS THE ROOF OFF
NORTHGATE HIGH SCHOOL!
|
|
A capacity crowd of 350 fans was in attendance
on January 25 at Northgate High School in Bellevue for IWC's
action-packed fundaiser show to help raise money for the school's
Spanish Class trip to New York City. The evening saw Jimmy Vega$
defeat CM Punk in a hard-fought battle to retain his IWC
Heavyweight Title while Super Hentai scored a pinfall against Classic
Colt Cabana to hang on to his IWC Super Indy Title. The show's
wildcard turned out to be Shirley Doe's mysterious masked
cohort known only as "X" who assisted Doe in his victory over Bubba the
Bulldog,
and also joined Doe to thwart Sexual Harassment's attempt to
regain their IWC Tag Team Championship belts from The Devil's
Advocates in a street fight. Later in the evening, the Advocates
interfered in a match-up between Dustin Ardine and Trevor
Lowe causing a no-contest, which prompted IWC promoter Norm
Connors to force the Advocates into a second Tag Team Title defense
by teaming Lowe and Ardine against them. The Advocates somehow escaped
with another controversial victory.
Other match-ups featured the IWC debuts of Al
B Damm and Carlton Kaz, who amazed the audience with a
wild, fast-paced, high-flying opening match with Damm scoring the pin.
IWC bad boy Dean Radford pummelled his way to a victory against
the charismatic Spider Mask, while T.Rantula defeated
the returning Steel City Wrestling icon, Frank Staletto, in a
"retro match" to commemorate Norm Connors' 10-year anniversary
involvement in promoting professional wrestling in Western
Pennsylvania. IWC show sponsor Jerrys 1888 Tavern also assisted
the Spanish Class by placing the highest bid of $150 in an auction for
a poster signed by all of the IWC superstars. It was a stellar night of
action and mayhem that wrestling fans have come to expect from the
International Wrestling Cartel, and IWC delivered! Stay tuned for
unfolding developments over the mysterious "X" as well as IWC's first
television taping!
