![]() December 20th, 2005 Greetings from Monte Carlo. As I write this, it is a quite chilly and brisk 48 degrees from the balcony of my hotel suite, so I can certainly sympathize with you people in your 18 degree weather. When you're done reading this I quite suggest that you do as I intend to, go soak in the jacuzzi with a supermodel or two and a mimosa for an hour or so. It really does warm the heart. Now on to the issues at hand. I've been informed recently of a couple of decisions by the IWC brass that really don't gel very well. I'm sure you fans are outraged as well. First, Shiima Xion is not being given a bye into the SuperIndy tourney this year. Now this is just spiteful. As you fans know, Shiima all but made that tournament last year. He was never even really beaten. But for an unfortunate miscue on his part, he'd be the SuperIndy champion today. We're not asking for special treatment mind you. It would be quite reasonable to demand that the 2006 SuperIndy title be handed over to him right now. But to do so would be to cheat you fans out of a spectacular mat classic the likes of which you've never seen before. Therefore I'm calling on you fans to write in and demand that Shiima be given entry into the tourney immediately. He's quite proven himself, without having to deal with the likes of a fruitcake like Spectre. Second, there's this whole business with the IWC Year-End awards. Can someone please explain to me why Shiima, as IWC's single greatest stand out star, as the undisputed winner of the Newcomer of the Year award last year, is not being given a chance to defend that honor? He is after all a fighting champion. He deserves a shot against the likes of Bolen, DeMarco, Webb, Cage and the rest. Yes, I realize that he's technically not a "rookie" anymore. But is a supermodel as fashionable as Xion ever really "old?" Of course not. He reinvents himself in every single photoshoot. Every single rock video. Every time he steps into that ring. Let us not forget, that there is only one man in this whole company who challenged for every single IWC-recognized title in the year of 2005. Not only did he enter the SuperIndy tournament, but he challenged for and should have won the three other titles as well. He only lost to Doe because of blatant interference from Jake Garrett, a man who thankfully doesn't even work here anymore. Likewise, he'd be International Champ but for the interference of that crybaby, Troy Lords. And he and I should be the tag champs, had the Gazebo Brother's not used a blatant double team move in front of the referee to pin me (watching the tape, it is quite clear that the Curse of the Piano takes at least 12 seconds to execute, and Stephen Colter should have realized that, if he'd been able to figure out how to count all the way to five). With accomplishments like that, Shiima not only deserves a rematch for every single title in IWC, thus becoming the first man to unify all four titles, but he deserves to be recognized as the first 2-time Undisputed Newcomer of the Year. And you fans can make that happen. Write in his name for the newcomer award. Screw the Man! Take control of the system! Vote Early! Vote Often! Vote Shiima! Happy Haunakwanzmas! -Maverick { - RETURN TO THE MAIN PAGE - } |
