![]() AUGUST 3, 2005 From The Bully Pulpit 4: Bride of Bully Pulpit There's a difference between being eager to see a match and enjoying a match once you see it. Sometimes, if you're really lucky, you get both. The Midnight Express vs Southern Comfort is a good example of a time in IWC when I got both. The no-DQ match between Shirley Doe and Eddie Kingston is a good example of not being super-excited beforehand but being very pleased once I saw the match. Seeing a Dustin Ardine vs J-Ru match would be a great example something I would eagerly anticipate and be sorely disappointed in. This Friday, Shirley Doe defends his IWC title (and may I add this will be his 12th defense this reign) against current AWA World/former NWA World/former ECW World champion Steve Corino. This is a match I am greatly looking forward to and I can guarantee it will live up to my expectations. Both of these guys have had their old school southern brawling styles augmented by the influence of Japan. Friday night, the Palisades in McKeesport is going to seem more like Korakuen Hall and I, for one, can't wait. Didn't I mention something a few weeks ago about Troy Lords mean streak starting to show itself? Jimmy DeMarco is ready, willing and able totell you anything you'd like to know about Lords' temper. On a personal note, I had to retake my photos for my new passport this week because apparently the black t-shirt I was wearing blended in with my out-of-control beard and didn't provide enough contrast. They're wickedly strict about passport requirements up here in the frozen north. Luckily I was wearing a red t-shirt when they told me this and the photomat is in the same complex as the passport office, making the problem easy to remedy. I get my new passport delivered next week so my plans to brutally beat Joe Dombrowski and leave him for dead in a dirty alleyway somewhere in the north of England are still on track for the first of October. Hey, it worked!!! I wished for Raymond Rowe to be brought back to IWC and it happened. Let's try this again... Ummmm.... Don't want to squander this.... I would really like to see Abyss from TNA in an IWC ring. Until next week, try to stay out of trouble. Most of you wouldn't last a day in jail. Hell, they use kids like Shookerdo as a form of currency in most prisons. -Anthony Kingdom James { - RETURN TO THE MAIN PAGE - } |
