From The Bully Pulpit 5: A Spike Lee Joint
What the hell does IWC have to do to get respect on the national scene? Where are the legions of drooling internet fanboys the likes of which groups like PWG, IWA-MS, Chikara, CZW, JAPW or the recently-deceased 3PW are deluged with? IWC has an incredible roster from super-indy start to rookie finish. But somehow we're lacking that buzz. What is it that other groups have that IWC is lacking or isn't exploiting or whatever?
What makes the Deviant a deviant? I'm not picking on the kid or trying to bury him because I think he's got a lot going for him and his look puts him ahead of the field in the footrace to get somewhere in wrestling. But he doesn't strike me as a gimp-mask, s&m pervert type of deviant. And I haven't noticed any extra fingers or toes on the kid like a nuclear mutant-type of deviant. I don't know... maybe he has a tail or something.
Hey, I'm just asking.
I will have missed two full months of IWC when I get back in October. Unfortunately, other commitments have kept me away from the last Uniontown and McKeesport shows and I already know I won't be at the September event. That really blows. There's an awful lot going on in IWC these days that I hate not being an eyewitness to.
Chris Hamrick using the Southern Bellringer to drive both HENTAI and Sebastian Dark through a table. Jake Garrett staring down mouthy drunks in Uniontown. SJK attacking Shirley Doe. The Ohio Players wearing dresses while fans posed with them for snapshots. I'm missing out on the fun.
Sigh.
Well, in the meantime, try your best not to watch any old Dustin Ardine matches and I'll talk to you next week.
