IWC: How long have you been a professional wrestler
and where did you train?
TROY LORDS: I was trianed in the same building
were IWC trains at now, by T.Rantula, Brian O and Maniac Matt Borne,
who I can tell you from personal experince is for REAL. T gave me the
opprotunity to train and Brian really showed me the basics. Say what
you want about him, but in my opinion he was a damn good trainer. Matt
showed me how to but the basics together and actually wrestle a match.
I've been wrestling now for about a year and a half.
IWC: How did you get involved with the team of
Sexual Harassment?
TROY LORDS: Well, prior to debuting, I really
didnt have a spot in the company. Sexual Harassment was starting to
make a name for themselves and I wanted to do the same, so we hooked up
the first show I was on and the rest is history.
IWC: What happened in your Super Indy Title Match
with Super Hentai that resulted in you being out of action for about
four months?
TROY LORDS: I caught Hentai going for a running
bulldog up the corner and reversed him into a blue thunder backbreaker.
With all the rotation, I lost my footing and droped Hentai over my knee
with my ankle landing horizontal on the mat. The next day I went to the
ER and the doctor said I had a severly sprained ankle. I also had to
get some serious dental work done due to a blow I later took to the
mouth.
IWC: What are your thoughts on Eric Xtasy’s injury
that has sidelined him?
TROY LORDS: It sucks. Everything was starting to
go his way again, but his injury won't hold him back. Most people know
Eric's pretty in pink, but they don't know he's also pretty tough. If
he was able to regain the tag straps back from the Devil's Advocate
with a torn shoulder, The "Sexual Icon" Eric Xtasy can definatley
overcome this.
IWC: What do you think of the group consisting of
Shirley Doe, Sterling James Keenan, and The Mysterious X?
TROY LORDS: The thing I heard the most my first
night back was to watch out for Doe. I heard he was jumping just about
everyone in the IWC and he and X even attacked JT and Eric. Whenever
Doe and
this Mysterious X feel the need to go at it, JT and I will be ready.
Hey, maybe even Xtasy can join in when he's healed up and we can make
it a six-man with Doe's new pal, Sterling. I hate to admit it, but Doe
is awsome. He is one of the best wrestlers in the IWC, yet he has one
little problem. He is a self-serving, manipulative, evil, son of a
bitch. He bullies around refs, tries and ruin every single show and
brainwashes guys like Keenan to do his dirty work. Speaking of Keenan,
he's a fantastic wrestler as well, but he showed everyone at the last
show on March 14 that he's just a two-faced, backstabbing liar. And
what the hell is X's deal? He wears a mask to hide his identity because
he is a coward.
IWC: Back to your injury, what type of
rehabilitation did you go through to get back to 100%?
TROY LORDS: Just getting to the gym and trying to
get back into my regular routine. I tried to strenghten my ankle and
get into the ring as much as possible.
IWC: How did it feel to hear the fans react the way
they did, when you made your exciting return to IWC to help defeat the
Devil's Advocates?
TROY LORDS: I really wasn't sure if coming back
to wrestling was the right choice. I remember thinking of all the times
I drove home beat up and having to crawl out of bed the next day. I
wasn't sure if I wanted that to be a part of my life again. But as soon
as I heard Xtasy announce my name and the crowd pop, I knew I made the
right choice... especially after the match. I remembered it's not about
how much money you make or the nagging pain the next day. It's about
entertaining the fans and that's what I love to do.
IWC: Well, I like to thank you for your time, and we
hope to see more of "Balls Hot" Troy Lords in the year 2003!
